The Technology Powering Ekotex
An electronic descaler is a water treatment device that helps prevent limescale buildup in plumbing, appliances, and equipment. Unlike traditional softeners that remove calcium and magnesium through chemical or salt-based processes, an electronic descaler retains these beneficial minerals but alters their behavior to reduce scale formation. It works by emitting low-frequency electrical signals via coils wrapped around the main water pipe. As water flows through this energized area, the electrical signals modify the physical and electrochemical properties of dissolved calcium (Ca²⁺) and magnesium (Mg²⁺) ions. This causes them to form aragonite—a softer, non-adherent crystal form—instead of hard, sticky calcite. The result is that minerals stay suspended in the water and are less likely to deposit as scale. Over time, existing limescale can also gradually break down.
